The best part of waking up in Reykjavik

The best part of waking up in Reykjavik

I’ve never been a huge fan of breakfast, but I am deeply passionate about bread. Fortunately Iceland shares my deep love for baked goods and comes through in a big way. These bakeries are the best way to start your Icelandic day - especially if you’re an early riser in the dead of their very dark winter.

Bread og Co

(Bread and company) Centrally located, opens early, takeaway only. Fucking amazing. Get the cinnamon roll.

Sandholt

STYLE ALERT. Marble counters and chambray shirts. That is all you need to know. Sandholt is on the main shopping street and a great stop if you’re on your way to Hallgrimskirkja. They have sit down tables and takeaway.

Bergsson Mathus

A goddamn hidden JEWEL. Right in downtown. Spent more than one morning with their breakfast plate. They’ll do takeaway, but it’s so pleasant and peaceful. Carve out some time and have breakfast with their brown sourdough bread.
